Arriving At Tig Cottage:
Tig Cottage is nestled in the heart of the Stinchar Valley and no matter which way you arrive, you'll travel through some of the most glorious scenery in Southern Scotland.
You'll collect your key from a keysafe, so no need to worry about making a specific time. Check in any time after 4PM.
Tig Cottage is pet friendly and you can bring two furry friends without any extra charge. We supply dog bowls, and there's even a doggy clean up kit for any little accidents.
Downstairs At Tig Cottage:
Make yourself comfortable in our eclectically styled living room! Patio doors lead to the garden, which is visited by rabbits and birds during the day, and is a playground for owls and endangered pipistrelle bats at night. When the evenings draw in, you can curl up on our leather or velvet sofas and catch up on your favourite shows or a movie by logging into your streaming services on the Smart TV.
The kitchen at Tig Cottage has all you need to prepare your food, your way, whether that's sandwiches for picnics or a romantic dinner for two - there's even a Nespresso machine. There's also a washing machine in case it's needed!
The cozy dining room - separate from the kitchen - has a solid wooden table and comfortable chairs. Serve your food on restaurant quality plates and stylish cutlery. The dining room's velvet armchair is perfect for curling up with a book. The room's traditional woodturning has been here for over fifty years, and is now for decorative use only. There's also a bluetooth compatible CD player.
The clean and spacious bathroom has a toilet, shower, bath and sink. Please be aware the toilet is attached to a septic tank, so please don't flush sanitary waste, nappies, condoms, cotton wool, wet wipes or similar or else it'll block the tank.

The hosts had obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make Tig Cottage homely and welcoming. The information booklet was comprehensive and very useful. Lots of wee extras we did not necessarily expect but appreciated.

Upstairs At Tig Cottage:
Tig Cottage can sleep four people. In the warm, green master bedroom, you'll feel like you're sleeping in the trees. The twin room, which is the same wonderful warm green, contains two single beds.
In the morning, you can hear the birds singing to welcome in the day, and at night the sound of the Water of Tig in the garden will lull you to sleep.
The windows in each of the rooms are Velux windows which look out over the trees or towards the river; they are fitted with blinds to block out the morning light should you wish.
Our mattresses are high quality, 5000 pocket spring intelligent wool mattresses that are both comfortable and cool.
Our bedding is high quality; we use Mela pillows and we do not use feather or down pillows or duvets.
