Make Your Own Tig Cottage

We proudly support the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere.

We've designed Tig Cottage to feel like a home away from home.
Guests sometimes ask us where they can purchase some of the items in the cottage for themselves.

We've put together this list of information about the items in Tig Cottage and where you can find them for yourself, broken down by room.

Please be aware that some of these links are affiliate links, which means we may receive a payment if you purchase from them (this does not affect the price you pay, and helps us keep our rental price low!)

Three coats including a dog coat and a lead, hung up on hooks in the hall at Tig Cottage Holiday Home in South Ayrshire.

For security purposes, we use a Masterlock Bluetooth lockbox, and a Ring doorbell

The front door to Tig Cottage was supplied by Timber Composite Doors
The door style is Beeson 1, painted in Chartwell Green on the outside, and white on the inside.
The lock is an Ultion cylinder lock with a Ultion smart lock on the inside (this can be easily fitted if you're capable with DIY). While the smart lock system we originally used appears to have been discontinued, the new version of the Ultion Smart Lock can be found on Amazon

The walls are painted with paint from Lick Home (the wall colour is Pink 01) with the skirting being in simple plaint white.

The lampshade is the Mid Century Light Shade from Habitat
The coat hooks appear to be discontinued, the closest we can find is this coat hook on Amazon.
The rug was bought from a local shop in Stranraer.
The boot tray was from Ikea.

Living Room - Tintin.jpg

In the living room, the two sofas are both from Sofology
The pink leather sofa is called "Burlesque" and the multicoloured sofa is called "Sensation".
Sadly, both are now discontinued

The TV cabinet was a Facebook marketplace purchase but may be from Oak FurnitureLand originally.
The TV is a Samsung Frame Smart TV (32 inches).

The artwork above the fireplace is a print called "A Suspended State" by Nicholas Moegly. It is the UK foil variant, and was originally purchased from Black Dragon Press, as was the print to the right of the patio doors. It too is by Nicholas Moegly, and called "A Perpetual Static". Both these prints are framed in non-reflective Art Glass by a local framing company named Hatter & Hare

The paintings that have prices in are by SJ Hurn Art, and can either be bought by calling SJ Hurn directly via the card in the picture, or you can contact her through her website. The wooden sculptures are made using local driftwood by Ian's Crafts

The TinTin poster is the cover of L'Ile Noire (the Black Isle) and was a mass produced print purchased in person from a comic shop in London. Various copies of this can be found online, with some perhaps less genuine than others. The frame is an Ikea frame.

The pink elephants came from a long forgotten arts and crafts shop.

The silver and gold rabbits are from Girvan A Damn in Girvan

The walls are painted in Lick Home paint (Teal 03) and the ceiling in Lick Home paint (White 02).

The hosts had obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make Tig Cottage homely and welcoming. The information booklet was comprehensive and very useful. Lots of wee extras we did not necessarily expect but appreciated.
