Tig Cottage is a quirky, rural, dog friendly, self-catering holiday home in Heronsford, near Ballantrae in South Ayrshire.
It can sleep up to four people, with a master bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with two single beds. All our beds have intelligent wool mattresses with 5000 pocket springs.

In line with legal requirements, Tig Cottage's EPC rating is G (you can see a copy of the certificate below), and we are fully licensed by South Ayrshire council.
Tig Cottage is quirky, vibrant and comfortable, but it is not a five star hotel; it is in the countryside, and there are birds, bats, rabbits and other wildlife. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, spiders may get into the house, and we advise guests to have the windows closed on ventilation only in the evening as there are Pipistrelle bats in the area (they can be seen flying at night).
A small river, the Water of Tig, runs though a gorge in the back garden. The gorge is not fenced off, and the garden is not secured. We therefore highly recommend that young children are not left unsupervised in the back garden (the steps down to the river are both attractive and slippy) and that dogs are not let out into the garden without a lead (there are often rabbits in the garden and there are sheep in the adjoining fields).
Tig Cottage quickly books up over the Summer school holiday periods, Christmas and New Year, with later availability for other dates in the year. Prices are season dependent with discounts available for those willing to book without a free cancellation period and immediate confirmation is available.

Wow ! Just Wow ! The location is so peaceful and in the middle of lovely countryside. You enter the cottage and the decor is just wonderful and a credit to the owners Vic & Greg. Wonderful colours that work so well and such comfy furniture and beds. It has everything you need for a restful stay and just a getaway from normal life ! The cottage feels like home and is so quite just birds, cows and the sound of the river. The outside space is lovely and the decking area great with sun all day. We had to cut short due to issues at home and were gutted to leave but we will be coming back. Communications with the owners was spot on and very quick to respond to any questions. The cottage was spotless and even though pet friendly there were no hairs or odour. If you want a home from home in a great location with easy access to Ayrshire then this is it and a very good price. If you're lucky you may see Red deer as we did a short distance from the cottage

The sound of the stream! Comfortable sofas to chill in the evenings. Really comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Nice clean seating area outside. The bedroom windows were perfect for stargazing too. Perfect base to explore SW Scotland.
